I took several photos trying to capture the sparkle of hoar frost along the grass stems and this one into the weak winter sun came out best. Not sure about the overexposure though. Please give me any ideas on how I could make a better shot regarding composition and light. My camera is an Ixus 400 so not too many manual settings.

Beautiful shot .. I left the camera at home yesterday mornnig and the sights were very, very similar. Soon
the snow will replace the frost.

I like the composition, the low angle shooting up through the frosty grass. The bright sun might be inevitable, but I wonder if you could have moved just a bit to have it partly blocked by the top of a tree. That would lessen it's impact on the photo, but allow you to still shoot the nice back light on the grass. Despite this, it's a very dramatic shot.

I admire every shot that is not ashamed of the sun. Most people hide it behind trees - like 90%, roofs of houses, etc. etc. This one has it put nicely in front so viewer can feel the ambient.

Thanks for the comments. I'm new to this photography game and finding the light is soooo important but nearly always is shining the wrong way. Did I see posted somewhere to learn the rules then ignore them?

Great forum.
