Beards and Hats (B&H) has the XTi listed among the Canon cameras now. Availability is expected "in September".

That's quick, but then again, if any store would have a large shipment of them, it would be B&H. Happy buying!

$200 cheaper than the XT debut at. Market getting a little bit more competitive these days.

yea thats pretty cheap..now I want them to add the 70-200 f4 IS
Brad you should change that 75-300 to the Sigma 70-300 APO
I heard that canon lens is pretty crappy and the sigma is better

$800 introduction seems like an outstanding introductory price - I paid $740 for my XT well over a year after it was released.

Why wouldn't they put these nice features on the 30d - sensor cleaner/ 10 mp
I know to compete with Nikon , but they should have made these for the 30d. I guess I'll have to wait for the 40d

That would have meant a major re-engineering of the existin 20D,amounting to a whole new camera. As scuttlebutt has it Canon's going to make some radical advances early next year (no, nothing in the 400D is a "radical" advance), they opted to make minor alterations to the 20D, producing the 30D and push forward on the real next big thing for next year rather than ship something before its time.

Your absolutely right Jon _ as I looked at the very first one on the list so its a $100 cheaper, still a pretty good savings on a better designed replacement ... :rolleyes:

Wait... should be a rebate for the new XTi in Oct.
