Do any of you computer gurus (is there anyone there??) know how to get windows xp to empty RAM memory of dll files when you shut a program down?
Apparently they stay in there until the machine is rebooted, hogging ram memory that other progs such as photoshop could be having access to.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
TIA
Iain.

Their Cacheman software is quite good, its what I use and it appears to do what you want - It has a 'Recover memory now' function which removes unused DLLs from memory. It also allows you to manage and set options for disk cache/page file amongst other things. The people at the tech forums for my favourite flight sim recommended this as the game is quite memory intensive, and it seems to help.
As Always... Your Mileage May Vary....
Hope this Helps

Another program called CustomizerXP does the similar work of Cacheman, but also includes a ton of other tweaking tools that helps optimize your OS. I use their product since it is very cheap and works well.
