Criticism on these please?

Am new to the forum, very interested in photography, and would like some constructive criticism on what could make my photos better? thanks to all in advance!

Wow Bonnie that's quite a picture to start off with! When you post them make them 72dpi with 800 pixels on the long side, then save for the web. That way they won't be too big for the screen. Super shot, perhaps you could have stopped down a little, but still a great macro.

Wow, what a great first post, that is gorgeous. Beautiful rich colors.

the first shot is absolutely fantastic. my fav of the three. the second is good, but the third one the subject is dead center of the composition. try leaving more room on the left to give the heron space to look into. rules were meant to be broken, but the rule of thirds is a good place to start

thanks so much, I am trying so hard to get some good shots, and trying to use this new camera I have gets confusing sometimes! it's a Kodak EasyShare Z730. trying to learn about ISO, aperature, etc.
