This is the guitarist for the band The 44's, shot at the Julian Blues Bash this past July. Somethin' about it I kinda' dig:

I shoot this festival every year, and this year they've put up a gallery of my shots: Blues Bash 8 (http://robb-bowerpresents.com/steve_parr_gallery/BluesBashEight/index.html). Not the best stuff I've ever shot; lighting was a challenge, but it was a pretty fun day nonetheless...

I like 3879, the close up of the trumpet player in those "foster grants-sun glasses". The true quality/detail of your camera shines.
There are so many to chose from next......What lens did ya use on that close up?

John

Mine stuff is all Canon; 30D and 5 lenses, plus more....

You mean this one?

I kinda' dig that one, too.

I was using the 70-200mm f/2.8L all day.

Thanks for the comments!

The only thing I'd like to see about that show would be for it to be held at night under lights. I get to, quite literally, go anywhere I want to, and I think "concert lighting" conditions would be sweet.

As it is, though, it's still a fun show to shoot...

Why do guitarists always look like they are in pain? Nice capture of the emotion but a little dark and a little soft ... I haven't been out to the website yet. I am in the middle of recovering from a big time computer failure but it appears to be motherboard and I don't expect to lose any data/images, sigh, but it is really a time sink.

O.T. Never heard from your player relations guy but I have supplied images to the talent's management.

I like the emotion, this would be a good print to play with if you had a RAW file and do multiple exposures to brighten things up but keep the background darker....I might even remove the background and put in blue sky or somesuch.

I understand what you say about the sky....You SW dudes know blue sky....We don't get it as often here in PA....I lived in TX (Dallas, Conroe, Houston) in CA (LA, Tahoe) NV (Reno, Sparks). Incorporating some colorful contrast of the sky is nice on the eyes.
