Just taken deliver of my new Manfrotto monopod. The delivery guy fron City Link handed it over to me and then asked me to sign for it.
I immediately noticed that the packaging was soaking wet (and I mean literally falling apart) and I said "Has this been in a puddle or something?"
I was amazed when he said "Probably. The packages are left in a cage at the depot and if it rains they get wet."
I refused to sign until I had opened it - fortunately the supplier had put a plastic bag around the actual monopod box - if they hadn't the whole thing would have been soaked. Imagine if it had been a camera or another electrical item.
I'm sending off an e-mail to both the supplier and the courier.

City Link do seem to suck badly. If I have non deliveries or non-pickups, but they say to the supplier they tries to deliver or pickup then you can be sure it is City Link.

We used to use them in work but have stopped doing so. My head office in London is one of the biggest and most well known buildings in the City and yet they kept having problems locating the place and making a drop!!

The only problem i've had with them is the nightmare of getting through to the local depot when they take an item back there...
