When you add a signature, text, lines or other art to a photo, the image will default to a psd file type. To save in a jpg, it is neccessary to flatten the image. You will find that in the "layer" pull down menu. Now, after you flatten the image, you will no longer be able to change the text in your signature. It will merge all layers to 1.

Also, a neat way to put signatures on using PS, is to create a custom brush that is your signature. That way, you can put it on in different colors, sizes, etc...

Hey, I didnt think of that! Cool tip!

Heres one back- After you add that text, and before you click on the flatten layers, find the colors/swatches/styles pallete, and click on the styles tab. You can add a cool effect to your text easily.

Hi all:
I am a total newbie here. I have PS element 2.0 and PS 7. I am also interested in making signature for photos. How do I create a custom brush for signature, as pointed out by GenEOS, in PS element 2.0 and PS 7? and then how do I apply it to every photos?
Thanks :)

Custom Brush is as follows
Start a new blank canvas
7x5 and 300 dpi
use the text tool and design your siginture
now go to edit
define brush
name the brush
now got to the brush tool and see it
done
Whenever you want to sign just use the custom brush tool
Good luck and have fun the following tips was in July 03 Shutterbug issue and GenEOS is correct Napp is great for these types of tips plus more.
