Anyone Else going to the Thunderbird Balloon Classic in Phoenix?

Greetings!

Just wondering if any of the other folks from the Phoenix area are planning to be at the Thunderbird Hot Air Balloon Classic in Glendale in October?

Since I can't get to Albuquerque this year, this will be the only chance I get for some balloon shots.

I am planning on making a day of it on Saturday - which means getting up WAY early in order to get there for the morning liftoff! (I live on the other side of the city, of course!:) )

I just thought it might be nice to meet some of the other folks from this forum.

Balloon Liftoffs, Saturday & Sunday morning: 6:45 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
Desert Glows, Friday & Saturday evenings: 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Air Show Times, Saturday & Sunday: 11:15 a.m. – 4 p.m.
(Balloon and air demonstration events subject to wind & weather conditions)

It's October 21st thru October 23rd. I pasted the basic schedule above from an article I found on-line about it. About 100 balloons they claim. Not as big as Albuquerque, but should be pretty cool.

It's in Glendale, Arizona, which I believe is northwest of Phoenix a bit.

I will get back from Africa on Oct 16th. If I have recovered from the jet-lag by the weekend I would be up for meeting up on Sunday. I live in Scottsdale.

Sorry, that weekend is a new moon weekend. That means telescope time!!!

I'm torn on this one, the Balloons are at way too early in the morning and the Navy Blue Angels are scheduled for 3:00 pm. on Saturday and Sunday.

No re-admittance is permitted, except in special extenuating circumstances.
