Hi all

I've just sold two lenses on Ebay and have the funds sitting in my PayPal account, usually I just leave the money in their and spend it on Ebay however I'm trying to withdraw this money.

As I've never withdrawn money before I had to enter my bank account details

I got this error message up afterwards that I don't quite understand

https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/i/scr/pixel.gifhttps://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/i/scr/pixel.gif
"This bank account is disabled for entry into the PayPal website. Please add a different bank account instead.

If you would still like to use this bank account, you may fax us a copy of the bank statement with the two amounts PayPal deposited in your bank account shown and a copy of your driving licence or other photo ID. You must use this form for your fax cover sheet and send the fax to xxxxxx"

So how do I send them a copy of a statement with the two payments shown if they've disabled that account ?

Have they sent the payments but now disabled the account until they get the fax so I can't make any further transfers ?

I'm a tad confused

when you first signed up, they sent you 2 deposits, for a total of less than $1. find the bank statement that shows those, fromt he day you signed up for it, and fax it to them I guess

It's because you're international. I've heard of that before; that's just how they do it, I think. I was able to simply fill in the deposited amounts, but an Italian friend of mine had to fax things as well. If you can over there, I'd simply sign up for the Paypal Debit Card. That way, you can simply go to a bank terminal and get your money out.

I think your spot on

I entered another account number and it gave me a message to that effect.

So I guess I can't have my funds till this is all set up properly :(

Believe me when I say I don't need another card

Hey, it's not a credit card..just one to get your money. I'm not a fan of waiting 4 days for money, especially when I'm waiting to buy something else with the cash.

As for getting the cash this time, why not click the option to have paypal send you a cheque? That would work, no?

I've never dealved that far into Paypal to be honest as I mentioned I'm mostly a buyer.

I'll have a wee gander at their site to see if these options apply to the uk :)

Just click "withdrawl money". There's a bunch of options in the resulting box that tell how you can get it.

I'm not getting any other options than "transfer funds to your bank account"

No debit card application, anywhere

No "Send by Cheque" option either , although this option is mentioned in their help section

International customers (i.e. non-yanks) don't have as many options for withdrawing money as in America. The checks are simply part of the security to ensure that you can't add somebody ELSE's bank account and then spend their money through Paypal.

I think your options are either complete the checks and authenticate your bank details, or spend it through paypal.

Those are the options I get. Don't know what makes yours different.

You are in America, where Paypal is based. Over here, we only get the one option - withdraw to bank.

You can't even verify your checking account and such and get it? Can't get the mastercard, either?

We can't get checks or ATM cards because they only work with American banks. The only option that comes up under 'withdraw money' is 'transfer to bank account'. Even that takes longer than for you guys, they state up to seven days, but it took ten once and I got a £20 hit for bank charges. I waited a week then wrote a cheque (check) which reached the bank the next day, I figured eight days the money was bound to have arrived. Nope, I went a few pounds overdrawn and the bank charged me £20.

I've just checked and we CAN also get the credit card over here, but nothing else.

It's not ideal, but I sell a lot of stuff on ebay, most of which goes overseas, so Paypal is the best way for me to be paid.

When I first signed up to pay pal I had to use my Mothers name cause I didnt have any credit/debit cards. Now that I do the account is still in my mothers name although the payment comes from my cards. I E-Mailed them asking to change the name on the account and they said they cant. Even though I had all my details and my Mothers details to prove all I was changing was the name. Everything comes addressed to my mother. Not good. I guess I will have to register a new account.

I had that problem, too. When I was younger and set up my account, I used my grandma's credit card (since I was too young). Oddly enough, it now has my business name on the account, but the person is my grandmother, who has nothing to do with the business. They don't know that, though, and I'm not telling them. Let it lie. I was, however, able to get a debit card with my name on it.

I suggest the OP read the official Paypal information that relates to the UK operation rather than relying and the kind of 'advice' being posted here, which is actually mainly useless. I'm sure he's figured that out already tho ;-)

I said I didn't know the difference between the workings of paypal in the UK and US. I was just offering what I know, in case it might help. I'm not hurting anyone, Dave, whether that was directed toward me (as a good portion of your comments are) or not.
