I was looking out my window this morning and these little birds just seemed to be waiting for me to get the camera. Lighting was tough and I used flash on a couple shots, but it's fun to watch theses little guys.

You are getting a few hummers attracted to your feeders Kev and it's a shame that we in the UK don't have the privilege to see hummers arrive to our gardens, I would love to see these little birds in action.

Great to see - what is that in the feeder some sort of liquid sugar feed?

Tony - just wait a few years for global warming to kick in! I did have the joy of seeing a hummingbird hawk moth in the garden last night. That is the closest we will get here.

Really like the last shot Kev.

And I'm with you there Tony. I'd love to have hummingbirds here as well.

Good job Kev. Like em all and the three in a frame is unusual but the last is my favorite.

The liquid is a pre-packaged nector, which is basically sugar, water, and food coloring. I don't know if the color is to help attract the birds, or just to make it more obvious when you are running out. Next door, they use sugar and water, and it is more difficult to see where the liquid level is.

Thanks for the pictures. I'm seeing basically the same thing out my home office window. These little guys are super aggressive and battles go on from dawn to dusk. My wife has found several dead ones in the yard, some with obvious
wounds!

I've been amazed at how aggressive they are towards each other, and towards me if I get too close. They have swooped down at me several times.
