...or England vs Netherlands... whatever you prefer ;)

A quick selection of images from last night's World Cup Qualifier at Charlton Athletic. I'll admit to struggling quite a bit with this one. It was one of those nights where the key action never quite happened in the 'right' place... but I guess we all have those days

I must apologise for slightly reduced quality of the images but they were quickly proofed and uploaded from a car park near Basildon! :p

Firstly, for those of you that like a stadium snap, a fishy view of The Valley...

The fans were there for a good time...

... and from all generations...

England's boss-woman rallies the troops during the warm-up...

I didn't enjoy the greatest success on the action front, but here are a few dabblings. Arms spread wide for balance?...

Sent tumbling....

Some everyday tussling...

England's hat-trick heroine made a point of running away from me for all the celes  However, this one offered an opportunity for a slightly different angle on proceedings... desperate times call for desperate measures ;) ...

Cheers for popping by. For those that are really, really bored, there's a larger gallery here: www.tgsphoto.co.uk/england_holland

As allways great shots! Pity our side lost and failed to qualify...
Take a look at this shot on the official KNVB (Royal Dutch FA) for comparison.

Yarro, that picture is terrible! :-) Not bad, Gavin, but I can see your complaint about the action. My lens is apparently on the local delivery truck and should arrive here within the hour.

5 and 7 are very nice... and I would have gotten too tight on the last one had I been shooting. I still haven't figured it out yet. But thanks again for the examples. cheers.

The first shot is the only one I can't do at the moment (as in shots not quality) and having never tried a fisheye lens.. did you have to do anything to the pictures afterwords other than possible crop.. Not colours or light... but actual picture if you follow.. any reshaping or stitching or anything like that?

It certainly makes me hanker for a full frame body.

I see that even International football suffers with the same lack of a full crowd to give a great back drop as Non League! Great shots though and loved the stadium shot!
