Hope someone can help me out with this problem i have.

I borrowed the digital fotocamera 300d from someone. Ofcourse there's a flash card in it. The flash card is F1 512mb. I deleted the dirs that the cam made cause the flash card was full and put the pics on the laptop. So said as done and walked to my fotocam and put the flashcard in the fotocam and the cam didn't worked. I get a error 02 (camerea is canon 300d).

So I putted the flash card back into the laptop to see whats goin on with the flash card. There i saw the prob. Nothing was on the flash card, so I had to format the flash card. But I can't format the card. The laptop works fine and sees the flash card as normal.

I didn't deleted the system files of the flash card. But everybody is sayin that that must be the problem.

So if I did that, does anyone know if I can get the card back to working again

Also already did photrescue but the cf still doesn't work. What do I have to do now. Hope you guys now how to solve the problem.

Thanks in advance

Have you tried formatting the cf card in the camera itself? Here's how you do it if you're not familiar with that process (my apologies if you've already tried that):

1. Press the Menu button to get the menu display on the LCD.

2. Scroll down through the menu entries until "Format" is highlighted. Press the Set button to select it.

3. A confirmation message will be displayed. Scroll over to "OK" and press the Set button.

Yes i've tried that. But the lcd on the camera displays err o2 when the card is in. I can't go to the menu. When the cf is in the camera the camera doesn't work. :(

So thats why I only tried to format the cf on the laptop

Or is there an other to go in the menu while the cf isn't working

And have you tried formatting the CF card in the laptop as well?

Also, have you tried any other CF card to see if it's the CF card or the camera that's really at fault?

The prob is the cf.

I can't format on th elaptop. I can't write to it with the laptop.

When I put the cf in the camera the camera doesn't do anything. Accept that he gives an err 02. As already said, when the cf card is in the camera i can't go to the menu cause of the err02

The card is an F1 512mb.

If you can't format the cf card in the laptop and you can't format it in the camera, then your cf card is pretty much toast, I would think. If it's still under warranty, I would recommend calling the manufacturer and getting it replaced.
