I tried attaching a photo but the image was too large. Tried resizing it on Irfanview but the image quality decreased. I'd like some critique on my photo but how can I post it if its saying its too large?

You can use save for web in CS2 to create a file small enough to attach here. I do notice some compression artifacts sometimes but generally the shots are good enough to post.

Check out this link http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=163796 , it tells you how to go about hosting your shots somewhere and then you can imbed the link as opposed to attaching. There is no limit on the size of the file but he 800px on the longest side still applies.

In this link there is also a category link to attaching your photos if you need more help on that.

Go to WWW.microsoft.com and do a search for their "Image Resizer PowerToy". It is easy to use and works great for posting and emailing pics.

lyssa615,
Using IrfanView, try opening your photo and then click Image (in the top menu) then click Resize/Resample then set your size ex. 640 x 427 (or whatever size you want) then click preserve aspect ratio and set it to 72dpi. Now go to Size Method and select Resize (faster) and finally the OK button. This should resize your photo and have good results, I haven't noticed degration in a photo other then when you resize you then usually need to sharpen you photo to equal the original.
You can also use the software that comes with your camera also, but I don't know what you have?
Hope that helps :D
