The local museum has a butterfly pavilion until Labor Day. This is the second time there for me. The first time I used too wide of an aperture and the dof was too shallow so I got almost no keepers. I stopped down to f9 for this one and others and also boosted the iso. Let me know if you think it's a keeper, or what steps to improve the shot. XT, 100 macro f9,1/250 iso400. Basic shrpening in ACR and usm 100, 1.0, 0.

I think it's a nice shot. The perch is not as good but we have no control of that :D. Keep shooting and you might get one that lands on a perfect spot with smooth background.:)

Yeah, I think you're right. This bg is a bit busy. The smooth bg can really make a pic pop. Thanks for taking the time to comment:).
