white vs silver umbrella

The umbrella that came with my beginner bee setup is reversible. One side is white and the other is silver. What is the difference? When should I use white and when should I use silver? Thanks:)

The silver is more reflective and will produce harsher, cooler light, the white will not reflect so much and the light it produces will be softer. White translucent brolly also allows you to shoot through it.

WHen using white (shoot through) you tend to light up the entire room, but with silver you can reflect nearly all the light in the direction you want. = better for lowkey.
