People are by far my worst subject in photography.

The tree makes it a challenge, but maybe have him looking more into the camera or at least more toward the open side of the frame. I like to use a fill flash under trees just to fill in all the small shadows. Nice shot though.

Yeah you’re right, the shadows don't help. I have another I'm going to post in a min too.

Not my cup of tea. Looks like you're going for a certain theme which may not be many people's liking.

I think the last one would have been good with a little fill

if you think it's good then its good :)
now most shots can be better i like the first shot apart from the little branch hanging down, nothing wrong with the second shot but i dont like it tilted but thats just me.
the third i think would be better without his head cut off.
lots of shots are not bad but we all have diffrent views on what we like henc my first line.
Rob.

The lighting is a little harsh in these but I think the second is best. Has style.

I like the second one, but I'm not a big fan of the tilted image effect. For the third one I don't care for the top of his head being lopped off while showing his neck and shoulders ... maybe a different crop with his face filling the frame would work better (just to the left of his ear and just under his chin).
