I just bought a 300D and love it. Now what to do with the pictures. I just bought MS Publisher 03 and it has Digital Imaging Pro 9 free. My question is this, I have been reading different photo magazines and they all talk about photoshop but the CS version 8. The one that comes with my 300D is elements 2. Which is going to be more powerful and more intuitive to use?
Any input would be great.
Thanks

Use them both and see which you prefer and can get to grip with easiest.
For the future - if you intend to really get hooked on this digital idea and expand your horizons with more gear then you may find that using Elements gets you a head start if/when you decide that Photoshop CS has to go on your wish list!
Seriously though Elements has lots of the functionality of the full Photoshop package and could be said to be more 'Professional' than the M/S offering - but naturally I stand ready to be shot down on that statement as I have only ever used earlier versions than the one you have - they didn't compare with Elements which I would be happy using if I didn't need Photoshop CS.
Hope this helps.

"All roads lead to Photoshop"
In the end,. if you follow any digital imaging path to it's end,. the software will include Photoshop.
Play around with the MS thing,.. but use Elements.. anything you learn to do in Elements can later be applied directly to the full version of Photoshop.

Also remember that even if Microsoft puts out a decent product with reasonable capabilities, they'll just have to put some kind of wrench in it to make it totally incompatible with just about every established photographic standard in the known universe. Then, they'll make that wrench part of Windows, and the competition will be expected to dry up and blow away, or at a bare minimum, become so weak that MIcrosoft can buy them.
Remember Netscape?
I wish I could afford to go back to Macintosh----it's just too expensive for a retiree.
