I have a Canon 1D and I took some pictures in RAW Format today.....I came home and hooked up the camera to my laptop via the Firewire card I have(Adaptec Fireconnect - PCMCIA)...... When I go into Photoshop 6.0 and get into the Canon 1D via the Twain driver....I can see all of the pictures just fine....Now when I go to TRANSFER a picture into Photoshop......the picture comes out partially ok and the rest is garbled...... I tried the same thing with a plain JPEG-FINE picture and the same thing happened......

What am I doing wrong?? Is it my camera....computer...or the software??? I downloaded the software again from BeBit....

I have a Pentium II 266MHz laptop with 256Mb RAM......... Running Windows 2000 Pro

Help me please!!!!!!

Thanks........

To debug this situation I would suggest the following steps:

1) Take out your CF or Microdrive and read it through any USB/Firewire CF reader. Such reader will cost you around 30$ and Microtech Zio! is a popular brand.

These reader will make this CF appear as another Hard drive, which you can browse with Windows Explorer. Just copy those Raw files or JPG files from your DCIM sub folders into your hard drive and open them by using Canon ZB or BB. If you have created JPG file then use a good third party viewer like Irfanview. If you can see the images then you Camera is OK!

In that case I would suspect something funny is happening to your Firewire driver and Canon twain driver. Test your firewire by connecting another firewire device like external HDD or a mini DV Camera.

Hope this helps.
