Is it possible to change to a higher resolution on a FinePix A 201, other than increasing file size to 2M/Fine?
If so, how? I tried to change resolution from 72 to 300 when I did my editing in Paint Shop Pro v.8.1, but the person who waited on me at my photo printing shop, told me that this cannot be done in editing. I changed from 1M/N to 2M/F and retook the photo. When I returned to the shop, they told me the resolution had not changed. It seems to always be 72. Is there a way to get better quality? I want to use this photograph for a Christmas Card. Thank you for any suggestions.

Assuming that what you are talking about is that the image information (exif data?) is reporting 72 DPI then you can safley ignore this and forget whatever it is that the print shop is moaning about. Perhaps the following table with clear things up.

Assuming a 1600 * 1200 pixel image then for printing purposes - and only looking at the width, then

1600 pixels printed at 75 DPI will result in a 22.22 inch wide image.

1600 pixels printed 5 inches wide will print at 320 DPI

Does this make things clear?
