I think you need to clarify the question a bit more. What specifically are you looking for and why?

Sounds like an interesting question, I have no idea what you're talking about :p

I'm sure someone on here will be able to help, though.

Thanks.

I'm a student majoring in Mechanical engineer. My friend ask me this question, but I want to make sure about it.

Are you asking about what type of motor is in a Canon digital camera? If that's the case the shutter trip is the only thing even close to a motor and it is a proprietery part.

I think you've got your wires slightly crossed, Canon don't make lenses designated "DC", Sigma is that brand that manufactures "DC" lenses. AFAIK Sigma uses different motors in their range of DC lenses from the standard micro motor to the HSM ring ultrasonic motors.

You'll find several motors in Canon-mount lenses, too, not to mention the odd motor in the body. There are separate motors for focus and aperture control, and a motor's used to cock the shutter.

Go to http://www.canon.com/camera-museum/tech/room/f_index.html then click "USM" and then click "Ring-type USM Construction". Click "Roter turns..." to animate it.

Yes. there are Ultrasonic motor in Lenses, and separate Stepping motor for shutter and the other equipments control in the body.

So I think that there are mainly stepping motor in the Cannon camera body. Is it right?

Thanks in advance.

Current Canon lenses use one of the following:
Ring USM
Micro USM
Arc-Form Drive
Micro Motor

The motor which cocks the shutter doesn't need to be a stepper - it only cocks the shutter, which is an "all at once" operation, not something needing precise, incremental controls. The motors used to adjust aperture and focus settings may,or may not, be steppers. They could be, but it's not essential just so they can run both ways.
