Today I took a couple of shots from my area in Rhos-on-sea of mallards, well I took a few shots of some other birds too but depending how they come out, will post later.
The first shot is that of young Mallard in the eclipse plumage and the second shot is the mother who was swimming nearby. The mother without the father was there with her family of both young female and male.

Both shots were taken with the 20D and the 100-400 mm lens hand held. The FL for the female was 180m and the young male at 310m. ISO is 200. Av mode at 5.6

Nice shots Tony. Both vivid shots with great details. I really like that patch of blue on the wings in the second shot. These are so nice looking , mallards that you have captured.
Nice work!

Quack Quack! Great shots Tony, especially the second one. Perfectly exposed, the patch of blue plumage is very nice and the little catchlight finishes it off perfectly. :)
