Have been taking pictures of this area in the interior of Alaska. I stop here each year during moose season when the vegetation changes colors. Used a polarizer, and the kit lens, plus a little sharpening with PS3. Most of the leaves will be gone within a week or so. I plan to go back to this area within a few hours, and will stay there for several days. Decided to post it this photo for your enjoyment.

A myriad of colors is what one can see in some of these areas. Lots of these colors during the Fall are shades of rusty-brown, red, yellow. As you can see in the photo, some very low-grouth plants are completely red in color, birch trees have white trunks and limbs topped with yellow and brown leaves, and the spruce's grayish trunks and limbs are topped with green. Sometimes all the low-growth vegetation (brush or bush) looks red-brown in color, and the moose, caribou, and grizzly bears blend-in and are hard to spot unless they move. On the valleys below, several kinds of berries cover the land. On this ridge the temperature may change from 60 degrees F. during the day to 30 degrees during the night, and then drop to -60 degrees during the winter months.

A wide lens would be perfect for taking photos up here, but at least the 18 mm kit lens is enough to give you a glimpse.

By the way, the sun rays enveloped the area with a bright golden glow when I took the photo at approximately 9:00 PM. I will be leaving within a few minutes, but will probably post a couple of pictures in a week or two when I return from my trip. Thank you for all the nice comments.
