That's the point...not cropping it. For me, it's more interesting this way, with that person over there.

I have to agree with you. The person in the shot gives it some scale regarding the air the rider is getting. Very nice with all that sky. Looks like he's on a 250F to me though. ;) :D Do they not call that series MX2 like in the GP's?

the second one is nice, but the composition just seems off to me

the person in the first one is a distraction

i think that first shot would look awesome without the distracting person there. I really like the red and yellow against the blue sky but my eyes keep looking at the person. nice shots though.

right on, dude! somebody on another thread was asking how to show big air, and i think this is great illustration. somehow, you've got to get something earthbound in the shot to show how big these guys go. nice job!

Nice shots but I have one complaint, shutter speed is way to high losing the sence of motion, try shooting at 1/200th:D:D

I like #2 best. As mentioned the girl is distracting in #1.

how, exactly, is the sense of motion lost when the bike is flying through the air or spraying roost off the rear wheel? this isn't cars....it's a different deal. not saying that shots with blurred wheels don't look good, but it's not a requirement with moto.

I'd agree, it's nice to have motion but you're so close to the action and the movements are so unpredictable you need to have a high-ish shutter speed much of the time to get sharp results.

Excellent shots, great color and composition! Were you using a CP in 1? What lens? looks pretty wide? Am I right? Keep it up!

Just to throw these into the boiling pot

Taken at 1/320, still getting the motion

Not sure about the person in the first one, it's a good sense of scale and height, but being a bright yellow person

On a serious note, cracking shots!! :D
