Looks nice -- but forced.

I think that somewhat more color saturation and contrast via curves might strengthen this image. But (and I am no artist) I don't think that the materials and textures work that well together -- they are just not objects that I am drawn to to delight in their inherent beauty.

What would happen if you repositioned the objects:

1. To duplicate the reflections of the objects in the black ball

2. Shot only the reflections of the object in the black ball.

Niether might work, but what you have posted doesn't do anything for me either.

What if you took the picture in medium/total darkness - except for the lights on the plant?
