Hi, im thinking of getting one of my whale shots blown up a little, maybe to about 10x15.
ive attached the orignals, plus the cropped ones, so i need some suggestions on if there right or not, and which you think would be the better one.

I like the second shot better. The first shot looks like he could just have an open mouth, the second shot, yes it definately is a flipper.
I also like the mountain in the back ground more than it missing.
The horizon is crooked. This must be flat otherwise all the water will run out of the frame when you're not looking. :)
Try a panarama of this shot. You might like it.
Of what you've posted, I would go with the third post. It's got the better whale, and the mountain. (But fix the horizon.)
This is a difficult picture, due to the sun is shining on it's white belly, and it's black top is in the shade. Perhaps you could tweak it in curves, to gain some texture in the white and black?
Whales are grand creatures. So gentle and yet so big. I've only seen 'em from shore, but it's wonderous to see such a huge creature. I really hope they survive what we've done to them in the past.

Personally I prefer the 4th shot. I complies with the basic "rule of thirds" and produces action that moves into the picture instead of just upward like shot 2.

I think #3 is good because the mountain is visible. I also think the idea of a panoramic format is great. I took the liberty of doctoring you image just a bit. Hope you don't mind.

Wow. Amazing what the framing does for that pic. Nice work d. I'd go with that one.
