Hey guys,

Ok, I dont know how to describe this and I cant find samples right now but I'll try my best.

How would I go about shooting a motion shot of a car, for example, from the front, but have it appear that the car is still but the rest of the image is blurred in motion? For example, like the camera is mounted a good 5 feet in front of the car, or being shot from another vehicle in front, just to keep it in focus, but the car is moving and the street is blurred?

Furthermore, how do you get a "motion wheel" shot, where the camera is on the side ofthe car for example, as the wheels are moving.

Im sure these are probably secrets of the trade, and I have a vague idea of it, but I wanted to know if any of you guys who shoot motorsports more often may be able to get a few hints? Thanks in advance and keep shooting!

Most likely you would need a rig to accomplish what you are asking.

Slow shutter speeds with panning with the car for the second issue. You can probably use some of the images you make that way. Try different shutter speeds.

What is the situation with the first issue? Can you do whatever you want or is this a shot during a race? If you can set it up, you can probably do several things. If you are shooting during a race, I think Photoshop is your only answer.
