the swedish railroad is celebrating 150year this year, and tomorrow the celebrations is begining, and today one of the old trains is on the way down to the city of Gävle where all of this is takeing place.

after long waiting on the trackside with no movement at all, finally something happend, an "old" NOHAB TMY diesel locos drive pass me and accelerating behinde me, leaving just a massive sound and i big cloud of smoke :D

then the reason why i stould there and wait and wait, the big and massive Dm3 locomotive, originaly built for the Iron ore line i the north of sweden, this thing weighs a massive 270t and is 57meters long :cool: in other words just a very powerfull and cool engine :D

and then on the way home, there was a regionaltrain stopping right in front of me, and of course the camera was on standby so here is the photo

Labonte, These old train images look good. That first one looks like it is very clean for a train engine. Nice that you even got a shot of the engineer in the shots of that big train. Interesting to hear what they were used for as well. :D

Thanks, and i just did se a error, it was not on the Coal line that big engine was used, it's was the iron ore lines that these kind of engine was used, and is still used for shunting iron ore hops
