Just wondering if anyone has ever had the lens connectors replaced? I have a L lens that needs this "surgery" and wondering how much I should expect it to cost. So if you know please let me know. Thanks.

What do you mean by "lens connectors"? The mount? The contacts?

You know the little copper ends that connect to the copper ends on the camera. Can't think of a better name for them but Connectors.

Anyways my lens powers down and I have to remove it from the mount for it to funtion. I bought it used and was ripped off so rather then rip someone else off by reselling it as he did I will probably (file a Chargeback ;)) or send it in for repair.

Maybe they are just dirty. Your not supposed to touch them.

If they are just dirty you could try gently cleaning them with an eraser, but if they are damaged I'd be contacting Canon with an exact description of the damage/problem to get some sort of quote

Canon won't give phone quotes. :(

Don't think they are dirty. Already tried cleaning them and the lens seems to work but just turns off for no reason and the camera does the same thing it does when there is no lens attached goes to fstop 00.

That almost sounds like a chip problem. I'd just send it in and have them give an estimate.

yeah I think it might be. The connectors on the outside look as normal as any other lenses.

Look at them close, if people been touching them, sweat and finger grease may have like caused a short. Maybe try cleaning with a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol one last time.
