I'm still laughing several minutes later. Good one...we needed a laugh on the forum. I really like how he asks about the cropping factor and refers you to the manual. ALWAYS RTFM!! Even I did, coming from a 35mm SLR, see bottom of post, EOS 50E. He comes off somewhat condescending, but I thought it was great.

I'm waiting for a yellow covered book called "Canon EOS 10D for dummies" I got mine for the reason I got the SLR to start with, flexibility and to shoot pics the way I want them.

This is a hoot! Especially all the comments afterwards. It's amazing at how many people took offense to the article. It's probably the same ones that are still trying to figure out how to get the LCD to come on so they don't have to shoot using the viewfinder.

Can very easily substitute 300D for 10D in that piece.

I came across this article when I first got the 10D, and going through what I suppose the 300D newbies are going through now. Lots of near-hysteria at that time about how the soccer mom will take away the pro's business and so on. I don't think that happened, and it does feel like lots of folks got a lot more joy out of photography. Anyway, no point here really, just reminiscing.

Would one with clear glass in it do?

I saw the article some while back and dismissed it without really remembering anything in it - on re-reading however.........
