Tonight, I shot the final rehearsal of Primal Twang. This show is a theatrical presentation of the history of the guitar.

As it's late, all I did to these was resize them; no other processing was done:

This is Grammy Winner Eric Johnson. The screen behind him (and above him) is a movie screen onto which the performances are projected, so people in the cheap seats can see 'em:

Country/Rock guitarist Albert Lee who spent a long time playing with Emmy Lou Harris:

I'm fortunate to be good friends with this guy, Doyle Dykes. He's someone you may never have heard of, but have certainly heard. If you've been to either Disneyland or Disney World, and have enjoyed the music playing in the "Country Bear Jamboree" part of the park, you've heard Doyle play. Someone once asked Chet Atkins who he would pay to see. He had only one name on his list, Doyle Dykes:

All shots were taken with the 20D and 70-200mm f/2.8L, ISO 1600. All were shot in manual. Shutter speeds varied between 1/100 and 1/320 (man, I love good lighting!).

This show is being presented in the Birch North Park Theatre (http://www.northparktheatre.com/), which was first built in 1928. Two years ago, some private funding kept it from the wrecking ball, and it's now a gem of a theatre.

All of the featured artists are completely cool with photography, which is good, because there's no two or three song limit to contend with. As a result, I shot 513 images tonight. I'll be shooting shows over the next four days...

Good Morning Steve,:D

The PICS look fine, real fine...good stage lighting already shows the dramatic difference it can make...

Thanks for staying up late and getting this much together... And the camera/lens info is really appreciated...

the last one's gorgeous.

steve, do you use 'save for web' when downsizing/creating jpgs? there's no EXIF data in the images.

Thanks for the comments!

Narlus, I resize in an old iPhoto program, and "save for web" isn't one of the options I have. I'll assume it's available in PhotoShop. One of these days, I'll actually learn to use that program. It's already loaded on my computer, so I might as well!

Performances for Primal Twang start tonight, so there's more shooting to be done!

Because I didn't get home until almost 11:00pm, and wasn't about to fish through 500+ photos! I grabbed these at random.

I'll have a lot more of them up in the next two or three weeks (gotta' go to Ottawa and Toronto next week), and I'm also going to, I think, start work on a new website.

I figure to have two thousand shots or so by the end of the Sunday matinee of this show...
