Yes it's sad but true :/ My brand new Sigma 70-200mm EX HSM got to go again, after only a few days use :/ I got this insane high bill as a christmas-gift from my previous ISP :/ So there goes my Sigma. Just hope I can get a decent buck for it. At least, in some days, I hopefully can give you a real-life story of the resale-value of the EX's =)

I don't know, vvizarad, but maybe you need the girlfriend back just long enough to borrow a few dollars from her.
How does one run up a huge bill with their ISP?

Hi VVIzard,
sorry to hear that!
Are there no other options?
Maybe you have relatives, friends, ex-girlfriends, work solleagues, kind-hearted wealthy forum members that would 'sponsor' your 70-200 for Christmas....
Regards,
Andy

James: You can get it for ~ $15 off the Norwegian price, then you get the 77mm Canon Sharp-cut UV with it :) It's only been used for 20-30 pics, never been outside, _NO_ marks at all in either body or glass.. If you don't live in Norway, I'm not interested..
Belmondo: This is basically what you do. You lease a DSL-line, and get a DSL-router with it (for loan). Then when you move away, canceling the subscription, you forget to return the DSL-router, and yeah, you also forget to tell them that you moved, so they keep sending bills to your old address.. Then, you forget that you actually have the DSL-router in the first place, and wait for ... half a year.. _THEN_ when they finally manage to find your new adress, they send you a $300 bill for the loss/damage of the router. Then you call them to say that their router is fine, and that they can get it back if the cancel the bill. And so they agree on *puh*.. Lastly you fall into photo-frenzy, and forget about everything else in life, including shipping the router back, and then suddenly another bill arrives. This time not from the ISP, but from the company they use to collect bills from "trouble-payers". The bill is remarkably increased, and if not payed within 14-days, it'll double. If not payed then, you have to meet in court..
Yeah, that's basically the short story of it =)

Ouch. Well, that makes a little more sense.
Grudgingly, I must admit that my wife has saved me from many such disasters in our 42 years together. I even brought a couple similar messes into our marriage (well, after all, I was a sailor and I had an image/lifestyle to maintain).
Good luck! I mean it.

Well thanks. It'll turn out OK. No doubt about it. I could have managed to get away without selling it I think, but then I thougt, heck it's christmas, and I guess it would be ok to have some money to blow in the vacation. I'll rather prefer some beers, than shooting the star in top of the christmas-tree all weekend to test for front/back-focus @ 200mm, CA, etc ;)
I imported the lens from B&H anyway, so I'll probably earn $100 from selling it here in norway again. So I can't really complain to hard. One good thing is.. I've experienced f/2.8 now, so the next time I'm into a telezoom, I know very well that a f/4 won't cut it. That'll save me some new months of review-reading =)
