Can someone tell me how to change my camera to manual mode. STUPID question, I know. I just may have to start reading the hard to understand manual, LOL.

jog dial on top... select "M"
seriously though, if you don't know how to get to Manual mode, you're better off not using it for now ;)

It sounds like you are getting interested in photography based on your recent posts. One of the basic things that you need to do is read and understand the manual. Heist told you how to get to Manual Mode, but you will need the instructions to learn how to make the adjustments.

If you feel the manual is too hard to understand you might find this easier for you. PowerShot S2 IS Top Page (http://www.canon.co.jp/Imaging/pss2is/index-e.html)

Hi Brandon, I agree with you about the hard to understand manual, there's something about translated documentation. Cindi beat me to it (by 19 hours) but yes go to the site she linked to. It is very easy to understand and well laid out, and includes animations. I am not sure I agree about leaving the manual mode alone, I'd say go out and experiment. I 've found it's the best way to learn your camera. If you don't like the shot there's always the <delete> key....lol
