Guys, I have a problem erasing images:

It works when I press Func/Erase/Set on an image that has just been taken and is still on the screen (2 secs). However, if I want to review an existing image then erase it the erase is ignored.

Am I just reading the manual wrong or is there a trick I haven't mastered yet?

Thanks

Andy Smith

First of all, it is possible to change the time the image is displayed after the shoot button is released my going in the Recording menu from 2 to 10 seconds at 1 second increases.
it is option nÂș 6. In my user guide is on page 128.

If you set the camera in Review Mode you should be able to see your image previewed lager or smaller if you move the zoom lever accordingly. Also the Func/Erase/set should work fine.
Have you tried switching into manual mode and do it in manual ? I don't know... let us know what happens.... :)

When you're in Replay mode, and the image is displayed, press the button with the blue trash can next to it. Does that delete the image?

Yes there is a lock protection function.....it's option 1 in the play menu.

OK, here goes what my manual says: (p.94)

Protecting Images
_________________

In the > (Play) menu, select o-- (well the key symbol)

Use the (right or left) button to select an image to protect

Press the SET button to protect the image. Press the SET button again to remove the protection.

You can make the selection of images easier by toggling between single image replay and index replay by pressing the zoom lever

Press the menu button repeatedly until the replay screen reappears to finish the procedure.

Note: ! Please note that formatting (initializing) a CF card erases all data, including protected images.

The bold is mine. That may be solution that works for you... Just let us know if it works :)

BTW, if in Review mode you press the Display button twice, you'll get all the data about the picture. If it is locked, there should be a small key icon in the info at the bottom of the image.
