Saw an awesome moon coming home today so I ran up, got my tripod and headed to the roof. Unfortunately the moon was as nice by that point (had a funky orangy/green colour when I was coming up (and it was all in a matter of minutes).

Still I think I came out with some decent shots. Select the 6 I like best. Let me know what you guys think.

These are taken from an 8 story building's roof.

*Edit* I added one more image that I forgot to link and brightened the ones of me up a bit. Otherwise the rest are intact from original post *End Edit*

Nice series, how long were the exposures?

It really varied. The ones of me where around 5-6 seconds.
The city ones were anywhere 15-30 seconds.

The sky is so bright in some of those, it looks great!

I really like image 3, with the moon behind the clouds :)

At the same time the shorter exposure times with you in the shot also get a nice dark night effect.

I always love night time shots showing busy roads, and the effect it gives

Thanks MaltSTi, this is my first time shooting these kind of shots and I was really pleased with my first results. I'm going to be taking that tripod and night shots more often now! :D

#1 is my favorite of the series, it's almost perfect! I think it could use just a slight inward crop though to help the composition. I opened it up a touch, burned down the front right house a bit, compressed the color channels a really tiny touch, cropped it, and sharpened it... this, to me, is just about perfect for a night capture!

Great shots! What an opportunity to be able to shoot from the roof whenever you want. Have you got any shots at the moment there is still light in the sky, but the street and building lights have turned on? There is a 10 minute window after the sun goes down, but before it's night that I think would be great for these views.

Hmmm...yeah I should try that out...haven't actually thought about that. It should be dark enough too that I should get a decent delayed exposure to capture the both ambient lights. Hmm, thanks for the tip!

But I see you're just trying to get your post count up now again ;) haha (just joking, thanks for digging this thread up :))
