Bit of a challange for you guys :D
I tried today did not manage anything decent, I was too slow
It would be fantastic to see a fairly close shot of a dragonfly in flight (in the wild not studio)

Here's the link to one I posted a while ago http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=205504&highlight=dragonfly+flight. Not the best I have seen - but the best I have captured!
There have been others posted that were better - I particularly remember a head on shot that was fantastic.

That's awesome, Lester and they do tuck in their
legs in flight.
Thanks for sharing.

I took this one a couple of weeks ago on Andrews Lake in the Colorado Rockies (about 9,000 feet). Shot with my new Sigma 100-300 lens on my Manfrotto monopod. I was rather surprise at how close I could focus with this lens. Not sharp throughout, but reasonable in places. This was the best of about 10 frames.
