I just learned that the IMG tag has to be in lower case. Regarding your photo, I think there is too little contrast between the subject and the background, and the background is a bit too distracting.

This shot is cryin' out for a longer zoom. Cropping it would probably leave too small an image. I'm no expert here but wonder if the whole thing is a tad over-exposed even though the bird (is that a long-legged duck?) is just about spot on. There's so much background that the subject ( the LLD) gets a bit lost. However, it looks like a fabulous moment and like the bird is just sitting waiting for you to take it's picture.

Keep 'em coming!

Here we go:
- picture is tilted to the right (see bird legs)
- cropping will make the shot more interesting (get rid of the garbage)
- use levels/curves (Photoshop) to enhance contrast/lighting. Might be a little hard to do. The whites on the bird are too over-exposed to get any details back.
- boost colors with saturation
- sharpen the picture

Not be discouraged. We all had to go through this learning curve. Only half the work is done when the picture is taken. After that there is the digital darkroom to do the rest of the work.
