Down at Brands Hatch yesterday for a nice day out and a little work for ff1600.co.uk. Having seen the HSCC race on both variants this year, both in beautiful weather I have to say I found the racing better (excellent in places) on the Indy circuit, although the Can-Am and GTP cars were nice to see on the GP loop. New fence at Druids looks mean. Anyway:

Early morning in the assembly area - 20D 70-200 f/2.8L 1.4x converter - 210mm f/8 1/400sec. ISO 100:

David Wild sliding his Formula Ford Lola T200 out of Druids in Classic Racing Cars. Same equipment. 280mm f/8 1/250sec. ISO 100:

The Formula Ford race I was working on - Lap one and Neil Fowler leads Nelson Rowe through Druids, already clear of the pack. 20D 17-40mm f/4 Circular Polariser. 17mm f/8 1/500sec. ISO 400:

Some good racing throughout between Dick Dixon and Crispin Schlaefli. One of many passes into Druids. 20D 70-200 f/2.8L. 1.4x converter. 280mm f/8 1/250sec. ISO 200:

The class of the classic Roadsports field - the Ginetta - down from Druids. Same equipment. 280mm f/7.1 1/160sec. ISO100:

Finally, the classic shot of the brow of Hailwood Hill into Druids with HSCC Chairman Chris Sharples in his Chevron providing the car. Same equipment. 280mm f/8 1/800sec ISO200 (should have gone back down to 100 or f/11 oh well, I like it):

Comments and constructive criticism gladly welcomed. Thank you for looking anyway,

Owain.

Please note: Some PP including, but not strictly limited to a higher temperatre white balance and reduced saturation were done on the last two, as well as the ones I posted in the marshals thread. It's just where my mood is taking me right now. There are also more to be found here: http://owainshaw.fotopic.net/c1080243.html

I really like that wide-angle shot from inside Druids... really nice framing with the tree.

The second shot appeals too. Nice use of the kerbs.

p.s. Nice avatar ;)

Thanks. I did ask a marshal if I could climb the tree and shoot from up there but, he expressly forbade it so, I had to do that instead.

Second one is one of my favourite angles at Brands, down out of Druids. Works both sides of the fence too.

Your copyright is still there, it's just very, very small now!

lovely stuff, you have captured something that 99% of others do not when covering an event.

now show us some 'conventional' racing please :) hehe

Very very nice set. The first one is really nice. I too like the wide angle shot. I like the fifth on the best. Well done.

I thought these were all pretty generic. I'll take your word for it!

I'm struggling to find things that I want to go to for the remainder of the year anyway.

Thank you.

Wasn't sure if the fifth one was a bit too much green but, it seems to be standing up alright.

The Ginetta image is spot on. Really works, for me anyway.

That's a relief, in a strange way. But, can you get off my leg now? Thanks

I think I've got either 0, 1 or 2 events left. Oh well. EDIT: Actually, I've thought of some ideas to do at the Longleat Hillclimb and I could walk there it's so close.

Thanks. Good to know, especially for future reference with my thoughts on the green issue. That's one of the ones with some PP on it.
