what do you guys think about this picture?

i really like it, and i almost consider it one of my best yet. but go ahead and tell me the truth about it!

it doesn't look all that good as small as it is, but the original picture was too big to post on here. blow it up and look at the graphics!

Although technically good (exposure, focus, colors) I hate to say that this picture doesn't do anything for me.

Unfortunately, I must say I feel the same. I certainly don't mean to discourage you, but your subject is highly textured, but so is the choppy water background. This image might be improved with a long exposure blurring the water, but i fear the water here may be too rough for this to work well.

Unfortunately, at the small size, it looses it's impact.
The energy the large print has, is lost and is replaced with confusion. To help this, try a panarama format. Crop some of the rock and froth from the top of the frame so that the log is in the top 1/3 line. You could lose the white water at the very bottom of the frame that sort of lays at the bottom.

This creates a bit more diagonal line between the froth and the rest of the water. It looses a lot of the confusion that confounds the smaller image size as the rocks are gone and the log plays a larger part in the picture.

It's a log. In the river. Sorry...
