I tried out this combo today. Zoom set at 70mm, working distance in front of lens only 2-3 inches. Never thought about how beatup a coin is. My spindly-legged tripod has got to go!
C&C welcome.

Careful, you are on a very dangerous path, it can only lead to more gear and thousands of Macro shots. whatever you do, dont turn the macro lens on your fingertips. Excellent shot,:D ;) :D

Thanks, Bald Eagle. Your signature now says SD, but aren't your a part-time Floridian? I am accumulating some funds on dBay to take that next dangerous step to the 100mm Macro and a decent tripod. As a biologist, I have always been interested in crawlies big and small! And flowers, too. Plants are just slow, not dumb. Check out the adaptations they have made to use various animals!
