Okay, I really want to buy a brand new USA version D30..but my head is spinning with all of the prices and vendors that I see out there.
Warranty, no-warranty - high price/low price. I want to buy from a reputable store, but can't afford to overpay.
Can anyone make some suggestions on "good" price and "good" stores to buy from? What should I pay for a D30 at this point in time (since it has been out for a while, etc.)?
Thanks much.

The conservative choice is to buy one from B&H Photo in New York. www.bhphotovideo.com
Not the absolute best price, but a very decent price, and the company has an outstanding reputation- a significant number of professionals use them for all their equipment. If you find a place selling far below B&H, as a rule of thumb, you should suspect something. This sounds like a sweeping generalization but it has really held true in my (and others') experience- if you care to, you can read more about shady vendors in the letters area of the "TRV900" section of my webpage. www.bealecorner.com

Thanks very much for the reply. Can you give me just one other good store choice so that I have something to compare prices with?
Also, what do you think is a fail price for the D30 now?
Thanks again.

I bought mine from B&H two months back. It was Canon refurbished one and I have paid 1675$.
It came absolutely like new. Without that small Refurbished sticker at bottom I could not able to tell if it was brand new or not. They also have upgraded the firmware.
I bought my lenses from 17street.com very efficient and low price.
Best of luck :)

Pat-
Another good online source is
www.canogacamera.com
At the moment they appear to sold out, however, the going price is $2250 though I can't say what that includes, if anything.
Happy hunting,

Has anyone ever dealt with Adorama in NYC? If so, any comments?
Thanks.
