When do you recommend using Neat image software to clean up noise, before or after C1?

It won't work on a RAW file directly... so it has to be after C1 ?

I used to use it all the time when I had my Olympus E10. That camera had a serious problem with noise when used in any ISO higher than 80 or with slow shutter speeds. I have yet to use it since getting the digital Rebel. And thats at taking almost 2000 photos...Dean

I use Neat Image only on 24-bit TIF files. Most shots don't need it, but if I have a particularly noisy shot that I had to push up the ISO, then that works.

I have to shoot at 1600 ISO when in dim ice rinks and there is often a fair amount of noise.
