I need some help......... I copied the update to the memory card without difficulty and verified that it was present. However, when I replaced the card in my 10D and turned the camera on the update was not recognized. It is supposed to autostart.

I realize this is a short message but if you have already performed this update, it will be clear. Thanks.

Check if you did everything exactly according to the instructions. I assume you want to update your 10D to firmware version 2.0.0.

If you have a card reader, copy the file 10D00200.FIR to the root directory of the card. Not to the DCIM directory or any other subdirectory that the camera creates on the card. If you use Windows (XP), you probably have to right-click the card reader in Windows Explorer and click "Eject" in the popup menu before removing the card from the card reader, to make sure that Windows has written the file to the card completely.

If you don't have a card reader, use the UploadFirmware.exe utility supplied with the firmware update.

Now put the card in the camera and switch the camera on and you should get the update screen, as described in the instructions.

Thanks for the reply.

I followed your suggestions exactly and it still didn't work. I checked the file on the CF card with Explorer and it was complete (1740mb) but the camera ignors it.

The file is in the root on the card.

You copied the file to the card with a card reader? Try the other procedure, with the UploadFirmware.exe utility with your camera connected to the computer. Be sure to make the CF card empty (format it using the camera) before trying.

Was the card formated in card reader or camera ?

I had the same problem. I downloaded the firmware again and it worked OK.
