Hi,
Here are two different approaches to PP an image I took a couple of days ago.
As for the title: I spotted the word 'Faile' written on a wall and waited for somebody to walk along so that they would block out the E and make 'fail'.
I will post a normal PP attempt (levels, curves, usm) if people like.

Those are BOTH excellent PP treatmeants? Feel like sharing a crash course?

Cheers.
I'd love to claim that the PP'ing was all my doing but in reality it was some levels, curves, usm and then both end effects were done using actions.
#1: Dave's Sketch action
#2: Urban acid

Nobody have any critique or comments? I thought this was quite a nice spot... perhaps not!?

Perhaps the significance is lost on me.
What is "faile"...?

I think it is a great shot but could use some cropping and other touchups.
Alot of the picture is just distraction from the shot you were trying to get across. That Taxi Rank sign especially...just totally draws the eye and ends up the dominant subject. Not only because its bright blue, but its perfectly positioned in a rule of thirds intersection, making it a major point of interest.
That, and the horizon is slightly crooked.

As said in the original description, the man was used to block out the E in the world faile to make the world 'fail'.. perhaps that description was not needed.
I might desaturate the taxi sign as I don't think it can really b cropped around. I never really thought about the horizon as the guy is vertical, perhaps it could do with 1degree or so CW.

Adam, I like to comment also the horizon, that was the thing I first noticed, and I could not see any reason why it should be crooked.
About the version: the first pleases me more, the moody colors are not that much artificial. What about lightning the man's suite a bit?

yeah, that is all the horizon needs - about 1 degree.
As for the sign..maybe try filling it in with black completely? Shouldn't be too hard...

Nice work. As said, maybe just desat. the sign and CCW a degree to level the horizon. Are those actions free? If so, where can I get them? I'm a cheapskate but I like what they do!
