OK here is a new photo of my son. I got my 24-70 L yesterday so i grabbed him and threw him in my studio. Tried lighting suggestions that i have been getting from everyone here. Thanks for your help. By the way be hard on me. I like it that way.

Generally speaking, the shadows can be much softer with an infant or young child. So - in this case we can accept the extremely soft shadows.
However, I would recommend that you experiment with less fill or flat lighting so as to get the feel of the increased depth and modeling of facial features.

what's with the blue satin clothing in the pic? i don't see how it 'fits' into the subject.

Its my sons blanket. he will not be happy with out it. He takes it every where with him and if i try to shoot a photo with out it he cries.
