I shot this yesterday and sold it today for $10.00. They told me that they would like more but did not have the money with them. So I gave them my info and I got there email.
I had shot one of the surfers girlfriend watching the sufers. I went up to her and told her that I had some good shots of her with her dog. She told me that she would like to buy some from me.
So I put the photographs on my laptop and showed them what I had of them surfing.
I had shot 200 shots that day. All along the coast of New Hampshire, not a very long coast line.

This may be the actual color temperature of the scene, but it looks overly blue (or cyan).
The net result is that it makes the scene look awfully cold - if that was the intention, you win. However, I still prefer to see a better balance in the overall colors in a scene.
The other problem here is that the board is clearly the subject of interest. However, the lighting is such that the board does not stand out. There is an almost perfect merger between it and the beach in terms of color, tone and texture. That leaves you with a very weak image ( all of the contrast and interesting detail is in the background - not where you wanted it.).

Thanks all.

I think it looks that way because of the wet sand and an overcast day and it was getting very cool out as the sun was getting low in the sky. I did have the white balance set for a sunny day, witch it was before I got to this beach. Thats one thing I need to work on, change my settings as the conditions change.
@BeccaNH
This was up at Rye North Beach, you can find surfers up there most of the time.

I knew it had to be somewhere around there! Jennes beach is where I usually hang out! Nice shot, and congrats on the sale!

I agree. I think the WB/levels are off. It also seems as if the shot is rotated to the left. I don't think it's much of a shot, but if you sold it. And sold it how? JPG? If so, make it small enough that they cannot print it large and re-sell. Probably no bigger than 1024xwhatever. As for "changing your settings as the conditions change" - WB can easily be changed during RAW conversion or manually balance the levels during PP.

Congrats on selling an image! If you shoot in RAW you can always adjust the WB when you set it wrong or when you want to print different moods of the same image.
