Fitting non-Canon lens to 30D?

i've seen some post of using some aftermarket adapters to fit different branded lens to the EOS.

i have some lense from my old lady, Minolta SRT101, and i was wondering if i could use those lense with my 30D? i wonder what photos will look like?

so is there something like that or am i dreaming?
