I have just purchased my first digital camera, the G2 (it hasn't arrived yet, but should in a day or two.) I've been trying to research into what type of programs I should use for downloading and organizing my photos. I've seen info on BreezeBrowser and Scott Professional. What advantages does one have over the other? Has
anyone used both?

It's been a while since I used Breeze, but I prefer Scott Professional because of a better interface.

The latest version PhotoStudio from Scott allows you to change the exposure setting after the shot.

Over all, both have the same conversion speed. With Scott Professional, I can run two applications at the same time to make use of my Dual CPU.

Disclaimer: I am the co-author of YarcPlus...

...but also an avid D30 photographer (www.michaeltapes.com), so I have the same issues as all of you.

BB and Scott are both good programs. They come from different places. YarcPlus (the evolution of Yarc, the FIRST Canon Raw converter program), comes from yet another place.

These are all software tools that do a similar job in different ways. YarcPlus is still in beta form, so it is missing some of the features of the others, but it also has some advantages even in it's beta form (like the ARF noise reduction which is as valuable as Canon's FCF).

So my advoce as a D30 photographer is try the all 3 of the applications, and see which ones work for you. In many cases, you might want to own more than 1.

My biased 2 cents!

You guys are giving Big Ron lots of good advice!

I did not realize that theer so many options. Is D30Photo saying that you can recover shots with Scott professional, and do it better that you would by "simply" adjusting hue, bightness et al in Photoshop?
