My wife and I purchased a 10d to replace her old Rebel. Our main use is to take swimming, diving and gymnastics shots indoors. We have a 70-300 but it is not fast enough. Where can I get hte sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 for the lowest price. One poster indictaed it can be had for $550 but the lowest I can find it for is $650. I would sure like to be able to save the $100. We are rookies but haveing a great time with this camera. It's amazing how many great pictures ( for us anyway) you can capture when you are not worried about the film.
Thanks for any help,
Rob

Well the only place that I would recomend purchasing it at a lower than standard price is Delta International;

Any of the Brooklyn mail order stores you will be lucky if you get ANY lens let alone the one you order in working condition.

Try EBay - I got one for just short of 400GBP - I guess that sounds a lot when you compare it to the US dollar price but remember that the cost of this lens in the UK is around 600GBP!

I bought the sigma 70-200 from Delta back in October. They were great. The lens was at my apartment in Ohio less than 24 hours after I placed the order.

Look @ B&H, Samy's photo or bestprice audio & video websites. The best price can also mean poor service.
Good Luck

This is the absolute best price I've seen for this exact lens, and I've been shopping around for the best price for a few weeks now. Just gotta scape together the cash now!
There is another seller on eBay that's selling them for $599. Just do a search for "sigma 2.8 canon" and you'll see some come up.
Good luck.

Hey Scott. Just saw your PICS and I like your Basketball PICS. Did you use Flash or ? I just took pictures of my daughters Soccer Party, with or with out flash, and I get the yellowish, at least the far ones. The close up ones I get pretty nice. I am wondering if your Lens helped out too. I only have the lens that came with my DREBEL

Hi Help :),
shoot RAW and try converting with a different white balance later.
Should be possible to get rid of the yellowish tinge.
Regards,
Andy

Has anyone used the 120-300mm f/2.8 I was looking for a lens for my daughters soccer. I have been fighting light and my shutter speed has been suffering. I was looking for a 70-200mm 2.8 but came into some money and wonder if is worth the extra $$'s

morenoar...sorry I didn't reply sooner, but thanks for the comments on the basketball pics. I just shot my second and third games tonight and have about 300 pics to sort through!
I wasn't able to use flash and, right now, all I have is the built-in flash on the 10d. I only used the 50mm, f1.8 for all three games and that lens is a MUST HAVE like everyone says. It doesn't quite get wide enough when I'm close to the action, but it's making me work at getting good shots!
I'm shooting mostly indoor sports now and my kids' school programs, so I'm wanting to pick up lenses that are as open as possible. After the holidays I'm planning on picking up the Sigma 28-70, f2.8 and the Sigma 70-200, f2.8. Can't say I've heard much bad about those lenses, especially considering the value.
Good luck and post some pics so we can see how you're doing.
