550EX is a tad too rich for my blood, I am wondering if anyone know of any that is a "clone" of the 550EX that is made by a 3rd party, I read that there is one around and I am wondering if any know if their differences? Or can point me to some reading material. Thanks.

If the 550EX is "a tad too rich for my blood" why not take a close look at it's smaller, cheaper, relative the 420EX?

Cheers,

Canon D10 thanks for the post after reading about it I think I will stick with originals.

Barry, as to why not 420EX, well, the difference is about $100 dollars, I think I will just hang in there and save up. Get a 550EX first and then a 420EX later to play with the master slave settings.

Thanks you 2, have a good weekend.

I try to recommend the Sigma 500 Super DG to everyone. It does everything the 550EX can do for less money. The only thing I can see is it does not accept a battery pack like the 550 can, and the GN is a little less (not by much, but more than the 420EX). I like everything about it. It also does not weigh as much as the 550EX.
