I know there's loads of online mags and great sites. I want to know what physical magazines people think are best to spend money on.
currently I'm thinking about: Shutterbug, American Photo, possibly Digital PhotoPro.
PDN is expensive.. so I'm most likely going to wait on that one..unless perhaps it's absolutely amazingly necessary.
Any thoughts on that matter would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Just browse through them all in a decent sized newsagent. You'll soon get an idea of the kind of magainze you want to get into.

At the present time I get most of my product information from POTN and dont subscribe to any magazines. However I generally purchase one or two magazines per month (I live too close to a Chapters Bokstore), typically for Photoshop tutorials (80% of which seem to be from Digital Photopro)

I receive Digital PhotoPro and rangefinder. They are the only ones I signed up for. I did receive a subscription to American Photo for my birthday but I could certainly live without it. I also get Photoshop user magazine by virtue of my membership in NAPP.
Digital PhotoPro and Rangefinder are excellent magazines. The rest of North American made photography magazines are just not that great. I will buy on newsstands magazines from the UK. They are excellent quality and the articles are very well done.

Digital Photo Pro and Photoshop User. That's about it, and I'm thinking of letting both lapse.

Ditto to Digital PhotoPro and Rangefinder. I believe Rangefinder is a free subscription currently.

Love American Photo. The more photos you look at, the better, but this forum is very good for the content part. I defintely prefer it to the magazines. The only thing I like about the magazines now are interviews and/or the photos.

I subscribe to PopPhoto because it's cheap. My favourites are Photography Monthly & Practical Photography (both from the UK). I'll browse through the mags at the bookstore and if they offer something interesting, then I'll get them (because the UK mags are fairly expensive).
